News Release

Promis-e Aero New Features

  • Data Editor (Tools\Data Editor) – A form that contains all of the data from the project separated by different fields and allows you to search/replace, sort, and edit the data across the whole project. This allows modification of Device IDs, Attribute Text, Signal Names, and Field Settings amongst others.

  • ECS_Align toolbar- top, bottom, left, or right align any objects by selecting them.

  • Control Center (Start-up, ECS toolbar, Tools\Control Center) - project and catalog manager.

  • Select Line Type (ECS_Draw toolbar)  - Allows different layers to be selected for different types of wire. Useful for different wire numbering methods used later in the automatic settings.

  • Choose Polyline (ECS_Draw toolbar) - Allows different layers to be selected for different types of poly line.

  • Multi-Polyline (ECS_Draw toolbar) - Allows for quick drawing of multiple poly lines splayed out at both ends of a multi-connector drawing.

  • Control (show ECS_Display Settings toolbar) - Provides a shortcut for the page error control functions.

  • Replace Page Header Text (Tools\Replace\ Replace Page Header Text) – Displays a page variable dialog box to easily change the variables.

  • Display Shortened Part Numbers (System Settings\Display Settings) – Now you have the option to display the first part number assigned to a symbol followed by an ellipsis (part1,…)

  • Draw Wire Number on Line (Project Settings\Project Parameter) – Now you have the option to draw the wire number on line instead of just above it. When printed this shows a break in the wire just around the wire number for clarity and saves valuable space on the page.

  • MDI Support (Multi-document interface) –You are able to open as many pages as you want at the same time.

  • Names files removed – The files are now stored differently. Each project is now given the actual project name and page given the exact page name instead of the '_' underscore names files.

  • Directory structure modified – Application data is now stored in 'Documents & Settings' (by default) rather than in the main application program files folder. These can of course be located anywhere on your system as always.

  • Scoot command – You can use this to slide symbols along wires.

  • Resize Logical Field – You can now resize a logical field by right-clicking and selecting re-size.

  • Multi-Wire-Numbers – You can now manually assign wire numbers to multi-wires by specifying a start wire and number, and then picking the required wires to be numbered in the required order.

  • Simplified Dialogue Boxes Many of the standard dialogue boxes have been re-designed to reduce the number of clicks needed to enter data.

  • Multi-Wire-Numbers Automatically – You can select a group of wires to assign numbers to. Select a starting wire and number and click an end point to assign wire numbers between these 2 points.

  • User Definable Wire Layers - You can create custom wire layers and map each wire layer to a size/colour/additional attributes. After mapping has been complete, run the Automatic wire number function. This will automatically assign the wire size/colour/additional attributes based on the wire layer used in the schematic.

  • Short Circuits – Now when you delete a symbol from a wire that would result in a short circuit you have the choice of leaving a gap in the wires so that they do not connect together.  This way you can avoid short circuiting wires.

  • Right Click “Select Symbol” – This feature allows you to right click on a symbol and choose “Select symbol” to place another symbol just like this one. It immediately appears at the cursor for placement.

  • Easy Field Setting Editing when copying pages – When copying pages that have fields on them the software displays a dialog listing all the fields so that you can specify the new field settings for all the fields at one time rather than being prompted separately for each one.

  • Replace Page Header Texts – This command used to be called page variables and was located under the manage menu.

  • Replace Cable Text – This command allows you to edit the cable text for a specific cable.

  • Renumber Component – This used to be the Replace Device ID command.
