promis•e
Professional Edition along with the following
additional features:
Automatic
(Shortest Distance) Wire Routing
Connections
in the standard promis•e wire list are
determined by the position of devices in the schematic
drawing. With Shortest Distance Routing, you generate a
connection list that takes into account the physical
location of components and wireways used in the layout
page. The Shortest Distances feature analyzes the position
of components and wireways and generates an optimized wire
list. This "From-To" connection list, which
includes wire lengths and optimum wire routing, provides a
true "shortest distance" wire routing scheme.
The shortest distance wire list can be very useful during
panel assembly for those who do the actual wiring and
troubleshooting of the components.
You also
have the option of using the "wiring rules"
method of generating a shortest distance wire list. The
wiring rule version ensures that the wiring is done in a
logical way that adheres to your company wiring practices.
To accomplish this you define a custom wiring rule file in
XML format that tells the Shortest Distance program how to
wire the job. You can define multiple rule sets for
different product lines. This allows you, for example, to
automatically add the appropriate terminals and
terminations for wiring between components and panels even
if these do not appear in the schematics.
Wire
Length Calculation Reports
This report
automatically calculates a length for each wire based on
wire routing information.
Komax®
Wire Wizard
The promis•e
shortest distance routing feature processes the schematic
along with the panel layout to create a physical wire list
of where wires will run and their length. The Wire Cutting
Wizard for Komax is a tool for that lets you take this
connection and wire length information and send it to a
file that can be read by Komax automated wire-cutting
machines. Among the features of the Komax Wire Wizard are:
Gauge Check
Utility - This utility compares wire gauges assigned in
your project to the allowed gauges for the parts to which
they are connected. The software will then produce an
error list of any wires that are undersized or oversized
either in physical size or electrical rating.
Termination
Assignment Utility - Using the Termination Editor, you can
enter information on allowable terminations for various
devices into a custom parts database. The assignment
utility the automatically assigns a terminator (rings,
lugs, forks, etc) to each connection in the connection
list.
Custom
Output Formatting Tool - This tool allows you to sort,
filter and optimize the wire order to batch wires by
panel, or to output wires in the order in which they will
be used.
